Hypnotherapy is an alternative to opioid analgesics without side effects
Hypnosis seems to be a magic trick for some, but a recent scientific study has shown that treatment can be an effective pain reliever.
According to the US medical journal "MedicalNewsToday", the study analyzed 85 trials that tested hypnosis for pain relief, where brave volunteers were subjected to a painful stimulus.

Overall, researchers found that hypnosis alleviated the pain people felt by 29% to 42%, compared to doing nothing.
"It is important, of course, to recognize that pain stimuli are not quite different from the pain of experience," said Thompson, a psychologist at Greenwich University in England.

He said that painful cases or injuries "involve more negative emotional states, less sense of pain control, and adverse effects on the quality of life."
"If hypnosis is effective in reducing pain, there is reason to be optimistic and it will have the same effect on pain as opioid analgesics," the researchers write.
