Accidents

The Committee on Housing and Utilities recommended in its meeting today, under the chairmanship of Eng. Alaa Wali, to increase the allocation of the plan of the Executive Authority for drinking water and sanitation by 3 billion pounds, while maintaining the funding rates through loans and grants, as well as increase funds allocated to the plan of the National Authority for Potable Water and Sanitation by three billion LE for the implementation of the village sewage project and the completion of about 150 villages plan next year.

This came during the Committee's discussion of the draft plan and budget for the fiscal year 2019/2020 in relation to the following sectors (Upper Egypt Development Authority, the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sewage, National Authority for Drinking Water and Sewage, and the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water, Sanitation and Consumer Protection).

The committee called for the support of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities for the completion of several sewage and drinking water projects currently under way in a number of villages and villages in the Republic, which have been suspended for many years and have not been completed in various governorates due to lack of financial resources to complete them. The main reason for the completion of these projects is the lack of funding allocated to the ministry, especially as it is a service sector of the first order and is of interest to millions of citizens.
