The draw of the World Handball Cup, which was born in 2000, resulted in Egypt being part of the second group in the competitions to be held next August in Macedonia.

The groups came as follows:

The first group

Croatia, Spain, Norway, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia

the second group

Egypt, Sweden, France, Hungary, Canada, China and Taipei

Third group

Denmark, Bahrain, Japan, Argentina, Nigeria, Macedonia

Fourth group

Iceland, Germany, Tunisia, Brazil, Portugal and Serbia
