Director of the Grand Museum: The transfer of antiquities continues on a daily basis
Dr. Tayeb Abbas, Director of Archaeological Affairs of the museum project, said that the transport works are continuing on a regular basis, and Fiumia introduces new pieces to the stores and laboratories of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
On the stages of the museum exhibition, Al Tayeb explained that the first stage of the museum's exhibition has already been completed. The second and final stage is now under way and all museum staff are fully committed to the time frame set by the political leadership in 2020.
Dr. Al-Tayeb pointed out that the museum's exhibition in the Great Egyptian Museum will include many artifacts from various historical periods. The museum includes 12 galleries that include many artifacts from different ages.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministerial Committee held its fourth meeting, two days ago, to follow up the plans of the development projects of the two areas of the Great Egyptian Museum of Shooting, the National Museum of Egyptian civilization in Fustat and the area of the ruins of Saqqara.
The Committee pointed out the importance of these projects for the development and upgrading of the efficiency of the services provided to visitors and citizens as it represents a cultural shift in these areas.
During the meeting, a number of points were discussed regarding the development projects, including a presentation of the development of the area around the Great Egyptian Museum, which included the entrance of the Egyptian Museum and the raising of the efficiency of the circular road and the houses and views leading to it. Some cafeterias, restaurants, bazaars and toilets are on the way, while preserving the historical character of the area.
They also discussed the preliminary vision of the project to improve the efficiency and development of the area surrounding the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to improve the efficiency of the main streets and bridges surrounding it, as well as the development of Lake Ein Al-Sira area and the establishment of a tourist area, and the establishment of some recreational activities of restaurants and cafeterias And tourists. The Commission will finalize the finalization of these areas within 15 days and will be discussed during the next Committee meeting.
