Chelsea renew Jiro striker contract to end 2020

Chelsea striker Olivier Jiro has been suspended for a season, Chelsea said on their official website.

The Giro contract ended at the end of the season, and the extension was to remain the French striker until the end of 2020.

"I'm very happy to sign a new contract. I wanted to stay in the club for another year. I feel part of the team that I consider a family, and I hope we will have a lot of tournaments in the coming period," Giro said.

Giro has played with Chelsea in 62 games since joining the Blues, scoring 17 goals.

Frenchman Olivier Girou joined Chelsea in the 2018 winter transfers from Arsenal.
