How the Mouse Works

This reflected light is reflected on a CMOS sensor, which then sends it to the digital signal processor [DSP] to analyze the feedback from the light on the surface on which the mouse moves.
The idea of mouse action can be simplified as follows:
– When moving the mouse on any surface, the light beam, which is often red, moves and is reflected again on the photovoltaic cells within the mouse.
– Photovoltaic cells are connected to a processor, which analyzes images from these cells.
– Then compare the images taken with the previous image, to determine the distance the mouse moves on the desktop, so that the new mouse movement to the computer.
– The computer then moves the cursor on the screen, according to coordinates from the image processor in the mouse.
