Rasha Omar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Enterprise, Head of the Central Department of Asset Management in the Ministry, said that the Leadership Development Center was assigned to assess the performance of the boards of public business companies.

Rasha confirmed that the boards of directors of the holding and subsidiary companies have been restructured, and that the regulations of the employees of the subsidiaries are now being rewritten and the wages linked to the production.

MP Essam al-Fiki, secretary of the plan and budget committee, asked about the criteria and controls for the selection of the heads of the boards of directors of companies, stressing that they are not done accurately, and cause mismanagement.

Al-Faqi also asked about the measures taken by the ministry in restructuring the boards of directors of holding and subsidiary companies, which have had boards of directors for 20 years, he said.

This came during the meeting of the Committee of Plan and Budget, which is now held in the House of Representatives to discuss the budget of the Ministry of Public Works Sector and its affiliates for the fiscal year 2019/2020 and budget programs and performance of the ministry for the same year.
