The results showed that women in the first group who took calcium supplements and vitamin D improved their blood sugar levels and cholesterol levels.
Researcher Ahmed Ismail Zadeh, MD, associate professor at the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, said the results are promising but vitamin D supplements are not suitable for all women.
"Vitamin D has some toxic effects on women and their children, so we can not recommend all women to take it, but we can recommend it to people with diabetes who have a vitamin D deficiency.
He added that gestational diabetes is the development of high levels of blood glucose during pregnancy in women who have not had diabetes previously, it affects about 7% of women in the United States, and can lead to serious complications in childbirth and increases the risk of disease Type 2 diabetes later in life.
