While calling on the World Tourism Organization to adopt this positive behavior, the Red Sea Governorate started implementing a decision to ban the use of plastic in the province, which has caused a worldwide boom in the tourism sectors to promote Egypt as a tourist destination that preserves the environment.

The "La Plastics" initiative launched by the Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Ahmed Abdullah, began in June, and companies and individuals will have to switch to paper products and reusable packaging in the future, to protect wildlife and marine life and to conserve endangered species. From plastic, either by ingestion, suffocation, drowning or poisoning from plastic residues, which in turn affects human health.
