The Transportation and Communications Committee of the House of Representatives has made substantial amendments to the draft internal navigation law, after returning it from the plenary session to the Committee for further study, the most notable of which was the revocation of the right of the Minister of Local Development to grant licenses on fixed units.
The Committee decided to give the Minister of Transport the right to be the sole competent authority in everything, after hearing all views, and the compatibility of the articles in proportion to the views of members within the Chamber of Representatives.
The MP Hisham Abdul Wahid, Chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Communications in the House of Representatives, said that the Committee amended all the controversial items in the draft law of internal navigation submitted by the government, after being returned to the Committee again, last Sunday, stressing that the Commission's final report on the bill after amendment Ready, and sent to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, in preparation for discussion in a plenary session.
