The Judges' Club is located in the heart of Cairo, at Abdel Khalek Tharwat Street in the center of the country. The story of its creation dates back to 1939. On February 10, 1939, 59 judges and prosecutors met at the Egyptian Court of Appeal. They agreed to establish the Judges Club. , And to facilitate the means of meeting and acquaintance between all the civil and mixed judiciary. Their real aim was to establish this association to work on the independence of the judiciary in preparation for the abolition of mixed courts. The results of this work emerged four years later, when the first law of the independence of the judiciary , In 1950, the club moved to its current headquarters.
The land of the Judges' Club was dedicated by the government in 1943, with a grant of ten thousand pounds, contributing to the cost of construction. It was built in 1949 and is unique.
The Judges Club has branches at the level of the governorates of the Republic where it is presented Its activities and social and recreational services for judges and their families, where there are 25 clubs in the regions largest and oldest club Alexandria, which dates back to 1946.
The membership of the club is optional, but the fact is that all judges and members of the public prosecution are members of it. Retired judges are also members of the membership, provided that they do not engage in any profession or other work with the payment of participation. The Administrative Prosecution Authority or the State Affairs Commission if he so requests and continues to pay the subscription.
The General Assembly of the Club consists of all working members and retirees.
The Board of Directors consists of 15 members, five from the cassation and appeal judges, including the President, including one for retirees, five for the presidents and judges of the courts of first instance, and five for prosecutors; all are elected by the General Assembly for a three-year term.
