Riad Mehrez dreams of ending the African Nations node with the Algerian national team
LONDON [Reuters] – Manchester City star Riad Mehrez has expressed his hope of leading Algeria to the African Nations Cup in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
"It has been 29 years since Algeria crowned the African Cup, and I want to be part of the team that wants to repeat that achievement," Riad Mehrez told Algeria's An-Nahar newspaper.
Riad Mehrez is seeking to add a new title to the series of titles he has crowned throughout his football career, led by Algeria for the 2019 African Nations Championship, having crowned all local titles with Manchester City this season.
The draw for the African Nations Cup drew Algeria in Group C with Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania.
