Re-election of Ahmed Ould Yahia as president of the Football Federation of Mauritania
Local media reported that Ahmed Ould Yahia was re-elected president of the Mauritanian Football Federation for a third four-year term.
Nouadchott's newspapers said on Monday that Ahmed Ould Yahia was head of the executive committee of the Mauritanian football federation for a new four-year term, after presenting a single candidate without a rival.
Observers in Nouakchott say that the success of Ould Yahia in the development of Mauritanian football in the past few years and the qualification of the first team to the African Nations Cup scheduled to be held in Egypt next month is what made him run without a competitor.
