He added that the insect affects the maize crop and causes it to be completely destroyed, resulting in a heavy loss for farmers, while maize is considered an essential component in many industries, especially feed, and called on the ministry to present a comprehensive plan to confront and eliminate the insect.

The Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, the Committee is keen to communicate with the Ministry, to unveil the preventive measures to combat the insect and protect the corn crop, and the establishment of precautionary measures and a comprehensive plan of confrontation. Stressing the need to attend the Minister of Agriculture to the Council during the discussion of the request for the matter, to open the file comprehensively in the light of the potential risks, especially after the insect destroyed the crop in 42 African countries by spending more than 85% of the crop.
