Parliamentary: Amendments to the Labor Organization Act encourage workers to trade unionism

MP Abdul Razek Al-Zant, member of the Labor Party Committee of the House of Representatives, praised the new amendments submitted by the government to the law of trade union organizations and protection of the right of union organization.
The "Zant", for "the seventh day," that these amendments reduce the required numbers in the conditions of the establishment of trade union committees and the formation of trade unions and labor unions, stressing that these measures encourage workers to form trade union committees and participate in trade union work.
It is worth mentioning that the government referred to the parliament a draft law amending certain provisions of Law No. 213 of 2017 concerning the promulgation of the Trade Union Organizations Law and the protection of the right of unionization. The amendment allowed the employees of any establishment to form a trade union committee for this establishment with at least 50 workers. The right of workers in establishments with fewer than 50 workers, as well as professionals and tradesmen, shall be entitled to form a professional trade union committee at the city or governorate level with a minimum of 50 employees, in cooperation with other workers in professional groups Or handicraft, or industries Or are linked to one another, or common in one production. The complementary and supplementary occupations of some industries shall be considered within this industry in accordance with the international standards applicable in this regard..
The amendment also stipulates that the establishment of the General Union shall be composed of at least 10 trade union committees with a membership of at least 15 thousand, and that the establishment of the trade union union shall be composed of at least 7 public unions with at least 150,000 employees.
