Authorities in South Carolina, the United States of America, have painted a painter after finding various $ 200,000 thefts hidden in a tunnel system designed specifically for that purpose.

The 26-year-old Timothy Pinter used a sophisticated network of underground tunnels to hide police loot and included heavy construction equipment, transport trailers, building materials and even cars.

Authorities said the tunnels ended almost deadlocked 15 feet below the ground, while investigators uncovered pictures of part of the tunnels, saying they had been dug using some stolen construction equipment hidden inside.

The painter's sister said that drug abuse may have played a major role, negatively affecting his life and making him a different person.
