Messi: Barcelona's worst thing is to surrender to Liverpool

Argentine star Lionel Messi has confirmed that the heavy loss to Liverpool 4-0 in the Champions League semi-final has been tempered by the Barça season.

"It was not very bad in the first half but in the second half we stopped playing, there was only one side on the pitch and that was the biggest mistake we made," Messi told the press conference on Saturday in the King's Cup final.

"The worst thing we have done and we can not forgive ourselves is that we stopped fighting and allowed them to manipulate us," he said.

"I have had a great season as a team leader. We won the league and reached the final of the Cup. I think it was a good season, except for the Liverpool game that hit this great season," he continued.
