Manoufia Health Agent: We target more than 3000 families to raise awareness about the harmful effects of smoking
Dr. Nassif Hefnawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia, organized seminars to raise awareness of the effects of smoking on the health of the individual and the family in all health units in the governorate centers.
More than 3,000 health attendants attended the seminars, coinciding with the celebration of World No Tobacco Day by the world and the World Health Organization.
Health and health officials appealed to women attending these seminars to protect their children from drifting towards erroneous behavior, especially smoking. For his part, Dr. Nassif Hafnawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry, praised the important role of Egyptian women, especially Menoufia, in the constructive impact on the healthy and societal behaviors of the family and the society. Dr. Rasha Khadr, the undersecretary of the Directorate, added that the risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary embolism increases among individuals who start smoking at a young age. Dr. Hala Allam, director of the Department of Information and Population Education at Menoufia Health Directorate, explained that the awareness campaign organized by the Department coincided with the World Day to Combat Smoking. It included the unification of the awareness message to all health units in the governorate, which resulted in targeting more than 3000 people at the same time, Under the supervision of Dr. Rasha Khader, Undersecretary of the Health Affairs Directorate of Menoufia, to alert the society of the serious dangers of smoking, raise the awareness of the health of the individual and the family.
