Irrigation is conducting intensive campaigns to remove the encroachments on the waterways after the Eid holiday
Engineer Mahmoud al-Saadi, head of the Irrigation Authority, said that campaigns to remove the violations on the waterways will be intensified after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
Al-Saadi said in a special statement to the "seventh day" that a plan has been put in place to end these violations by the end of this year. He pointed out that the latest report of the sector of protection and development of the Nile River revealed that 45 thousand and 876 cases were removed from the Nile out of a total of 50 A and 399 violations.
The report pointed out that 50 thousand and 42 new violations have been released since January 2015, while the removal of the slums, where daily campaigns are conducted in all the provinces bordering the Nile River, which number 16 provinces.
The Ministry of Irrigation stressed that it will not be negligent or fail until it is eliminated and clean the river from it, and that the campaign targets all infringements on the Nile without looking at the aggressors.
It is worth mentioning that the national campaign to save the Nile began on 5 January 2015 and a document was signed to protect the Nile.
