France Football: Marseille pays for the failure of the contract with Trezeguet

World football

The failure of Marseille's contract with Egyptian team's Mahmoud Trezeguet and Turkey's Kasim Pasha during the summer transfer period is one of the reasons for the decline in the results and the modest levels of the team this season, France Football magazine reported.

According to the French magazine, Marseille have shown modest levels this season due to coach Rodi Garcia's contract policy and his persistent opposition to the proposals of sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, who was planning to strengthen the squad by joining several distinguished players last summer, led by Egyptian wing Mahmoud Trezeguet.

Marseille coach Rudi Garcia refused to sign several deals last summer, such as Mahmoud Trezeguet, and only contracted Nemanja Radunic, the Serbian Red Star player who did not provide a strong addition to the team.

Mahmoud Trezeguet offers impressive levels with Kassem Pasha this season, scoring 9 goals and making his own in the Turkish League, while he was selected in the perfect squad for the current edition of the Turkish League. He was named African Player of the Year in Europe by France Football magazine For the month of March.

Mahmoud Trezeguet is currently in second place in the list of top Turkish league players of the season by Hoskord, the world soccer statistician.

Mahmoud Trezeguet has entered the interest of many European clubs wishing to sign him during the upcoming summer transfer period, most notably Lyon.

Marseille are sixth on the table with 55 points.
