Electricity companies end distribution of 13 million LED lamps to rationalize consumption

Egyptian reports

The 9 electricity distribution companies have distributed 13 million LED lamps under the program of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, which was launched three years ago to spread the culture of rationalization of consumption among citizens and the optimal use of energy.

The total number of LED lamps installed so far is more than 60 million LED lamps either through electricity distribution companies or through private companies, which indicates the citizen's awareness of ways of rationalization, and thus contribute to the non-rising monthly consumption bills.

According to an official source, IEC's statistics show that domestic consumption has declined significantly over the past five years, while industrial consumption has risen to 30% and expectations for a maximum expected summer load of 32,000 megawatts.
