Cultivation of the New Valley: Strengthening the Bank of palm assets to preserve the purity of varieties
Dr. Magd El Marsa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in the New Valley Governorate, said that the Directorate took full care of the Bank of Palm Assets, which was established to preserve the pure varieties of palm trees, which are famous for the new Valley Governorate and to ensure that they do not disappear or mix with other varieties.
Al-Marsa added that the date palm bank was established within the project of the technological incubator which was developed and replaced by the irrigation system which has an area of 20 feddans, where the soil has been replaced and the efficiency of the irrigation system was improved. That the Bank of palm assets is based on tissue culture in cooperation with the Agricultural Research Center to maintain high-yielding breeds and rare species, and the establishment of advanced nurseries to produce these rare items and transfer to the places of cultivation.
