LOS ANGELES [Reuters] – Spanish football federation president Luis Rubalez has decided to honor former Spanish goalkeeper and goalkeeper Iker Casillas on the sidelines of the Euro 2004 qualifier at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Spanish Football Association [AS] newspaper reported that the president of the Spanish Football Association [ETA] had made telephone calls to Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas and notified him of the move, leaving only the approval of Real Madrid and the European Football Confederation.

The Spanish federation began to arrange the event after Casillas, who expressed his gratitude for the initiative, said he did not know his fate as a football player after the recent heart attack.

The newspaper said that the initiative from the Spanish Federation was based on honoring all players exceeding the number of 100 international matches with the Almtador, but preferred Rubalis allocated to Iker Casillas and organized for the rest of the players later.

Iker Casillas suffered a sudden heart attack during the group training with Porto, and there were reports of his retirement from football because of the crisis.
