Explanation of Qurtubi
Say: Say, do not ask what we have done and do not ask what you do.
We do not ask what we do, but what I mean is what I call upon you to do good to you, not that it gets me the harm of your disbelievers, and this is as he said: Your religion is yours and you have a religion and Allah is the reward of all. This is a sign of appeasement and commitment, copied by the sword. It was said: "This is before the sign of the sword."
Tafsir Ibn Kathir
He said: "Say:" Do not ask what we have done, and do not ask what you are doing. "This means that you are not part of us, and you are not among us, nor are we of you. Rather, we invite you to Allaah and to unite him and to worship him. If you answer, you are among us. (Yunus: 41) He said: "Say: O ye disbelievers, I will not serve what you worship, nor do you worship what I worship, nor do I worship what you have worshiped." (Yunus: 41) And you do not worship what I worship your religion and religion () Al – Kafron).
Tafseer Al – Baghawi
"Say:" Do not ask what we have done, and do not ask what you do. "
Tafseer al – Saadi
He said to them: "Do not ask what we have done, and do not ask what you are doing." That is, every one of you has his own work. You (do not ask) about our sin and our sins if we sin, and we do not ask about your actions. We do not prevent you from following the truth, but the rulings of the world are applied to the phenomena, followed by the truth, and avoiding falsehood. As for deeds, there is another house where the wisest judges rule.
