Ahmed Al-Hayawi Secretary-General of the Fund for Education Development headed by the Council of Ministers

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli issued a decree appointing Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hosny Al-Hayawi as Secretary General of the Educational Development Fund of the Prime Minister, replacing Dr. Abdelwahab Ghandour as of May 15.

Al-Hayawi said in statements to the press on Tuesday that he will work within the framework of the State's directions for the 2019 year of education and health, and complete the current projects of the Fund, in addition to the development of future plans to implement them during the next phase, praising what has been achieved during the previous periods.

"Science, technology and production are essential components of the overall development process," he said. "Science is the foundation of the development of education. Technology and technology are the mainstay of production, and production is the core of development and its essence. "With these words for the president, we will start our work in the Education Development Fund, and his words will serve as a guide to our future plans.

Al-Hayawi received a B.Sc. degree in Engineering from the Department of Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding in June 1992, followed by a Master's degree in Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding in June 1996 and a Ph.D. in the same specialization from Newcastle University, In the academic corps in the Department of Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding, until he got the degree of professor in 2016, and participated in various activities at the University of Alexandria.

He held a number of positions including membership of the Specialized Council for Education and Scientific Research of the Presidency of the Republic and Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Technical Education, Chairman of the Technological Education Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities.
