The Syrian Football Federation has issued a formal statement to respond to the news that Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli striker Omar Al-Sumah has left his country's camp in Iran on Friday.

According to press reports, Al-Suma objected to the decision of the technical director of Eskour Qassion to award the captain's badge to another player during the Uzbekistan match, scheduled for next Sunday, and decided to leave the camp in protest against the decision.
