Engineer Wadallah Abu El-Ela said that the project of developing the area, which will be after reducing the level of underground water, includes upgrading the power boards and the control of the operation of pumps, raising the well pipes for maintenance and disinfection work, In the presence of representatives of the Water Research Institute and the Institute of Drainage Research. He pointed out that pumps pumped into the wells for lifting the water are 170 pumps, which will be received during the short period, as they are specially manufactured in Italy for this project.

The project to reduce the groundwater level, which began in 2010, and then stopped the project because of the events of 25 January, and returned ground water threatening the region again, Dr. Khaled Anani, Minister of Antiquities quickly resumed the project, the project cost 16 million pounds, 14 million pounds.
