The head of the Irrigation Authority calls on farmers to adhere to the rotation and night irrigation roles
Engineer Mahmoud El-Saadi, the head of the irrigation department, called on farmers to adhere to the scheduled rotation and night irrigation, to reduce water bottlenecks at the end of waterways and waterways, and to solve problems of water shortage, pointing out that there is a demand from farmers to irrigate during the daytime.
Al-Saadi added that the activities of the regional committees that are formed in the governorates to follow up the cultivation of the rice crop have been activated. The cultivation of the rice crop is very important in the water management process due to its water conservancy, where meetings were held with Ministry of Agriculture officials to develop specific mechanisms for coordination between the ministries in the period Maximum requirements.
He explained that the planned area for rice cultivation, which was identified by 724 thousand feddans, comes in light of the available water quota for the summer crops. The design capacity of the irrigation network in the governorates was taken into account, as well as the maximum permissible behaviors during the maximum water requirements for all cultivated land in quantities Appropriate and specific times, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
It is worth mentioning that all necessary measures will be implemented to address rice violations to reduce water consumption, including daily campaigns in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and the security authorities to remove the infested and unspecified nursery in the declared areas for planting in the bud. For the rest of the crops in the summer season, and ongoing awareness campaigns for farmers to identify the danger of rice cultivation in a "Badar" instead of the seedlings under the water situation of Egypt at the present time.
