science and technology

The NASA Mars Jet Propulsion Laboratory [NASA] is preparing the Rover Mars 2020 by installing components for high-definition Mastcam-Z cameras to see the surface of the Red Planet. Earth

Mars 2020 will also be equipped with a system that allows it to accurately identify the surface during the landing sequence. The mission is scheduled to launch in July next year to reach Mars in February 2021.

Engineers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, have re-installed the remote sensing cover from the rover, which carries optics and tools.

This has paved the way for the installation of the high-definition Mastcam-Z cameras, which are placed on the roving deck. The Mastcam-Z cameras are designed to enhance the driving capabilities and basic sampling samples of the Rover 2020. The tool will provide a detailed look at the rocks and sediments inside Rover's field of vision, providing a more comprehensive picture of the geological history of the planet.
