The Qaitbay castle in Alexandria witnessed a great turnout by the citizens on the second day of Eid al-Fitr, and the castle square witnessed the enjoyment of young people riding bicycles and horses.

Mohamed Metwally, Director General of Antiquities of Alexandria and the North Coast, said that for the third consecutive year, the work hours will be extended to Qaitbay Castle until 6:00 pm from the first day of Eid Al Fitr until 30/9/2019.

He added in a press statement on Thursday that this was based on the approval of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and in order to make more time to enter the largest number of visitors to enjoy the important archaeological teacher.

Metwally stressed that a large number of inspectors were assigned to explain to the visitors to receive information on the important impact, as well as to mandate the protection of the Alexandria Antiquities area to ensure the safety of visitors not to climb the walls, such as the warning not to write on the walls, To be fully present to ensure that the citadel is presented with the proper civilized appearance.
