Microsoft scans its Face Recognition database

science and technology

Microsoft was frank about its desire to organize "face recognition" technology properly, as President Brad Smith appealed to Congress directly last year to take steps to manage technology.

According to the US site Engadget, Microsoft has refused to sell the technology to the California police. Now, the company continues its campaign by quietly deleting its MS Celeb database, which contains more than 10 million images of about 100,000 people.

Microsoft has created the 2016 database as the world's largest collection of facial recognition data, used to train facial recognition systems by global technology companies and military researchers, but no approval has been sought for people whose images appear in the collection, but given Because individuals were considered celebrities the images were withdrawn from the Internet according to the law.

Megabyte project manager Harvey revealed details about the MS Celeb data sets, saying: "Despite the deletion, its contents are still being shared around the Web."

"You can not hide a data set once it is published and downloaded because it is on hard drives worldwide."
