Measures to promote tourism from Bulgaria to Egypt, most notably the twinning between Alexandria and Burgas
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministries of Tourism of Egypt and Bulgaria to promote bilateral relations and contribute to the economic development and growth of tourism sector in both countries.
The memorandum included a number of items to increase cooperation in the field of tourism between Egypt and Bulgaria during the coming period, especially in light of the importance of tourism sector for both countries and the depth of relations between them.
This note includes several items, including:
1- Cooperation in the development of tourist products in the fields of cultural and coastal tourism, festivals tourism, cooking tourism and other tourist patterns.
2 – Organizing guided tours between the two countries and promoting tourism to Egypt within Bulgaria to highlight the diversity and richness of products and patterns of Egyptian tourism and the definition of the Bulgarian people.
3- Establishing tourist twinning between the Egyptian cities of Alexandria and Burgas.
4. The two parties exchanged information concerning the organization and participation of international events in order to promote tourism products, such as annual tourism exhibitions and conferences organized in both countries.
5. The Egyptian and Bulgarian Ministries of Tourism have agreed to cooperate in a number of areas, including the development of tourist infrastructure in the two countries through exchange of knowledge and expertise in this field.
6. Exchange of best practices for sustainable tourism activities, taking into account all relevant social, economic and environmental dimensions.
7. Exchange of information regarding the development of tourism activities aimed at attracting tourist traffic from tourist markets such as the People's Republic of China, Korea, Japan, India, Australia and the Americas.
8 – Organizing a visit by the Bulgarian Minister of Tourism to Egypt in October, headed by a tourist delegation including the Bulgarian governor of Burgas, a number of Bulgarian parliamentarians from the Committee on Tourism and Aviation, as well as a group of investors in the tourism sector there.
