Iraqi Minister of Trade: Purchase of 2.5 million tons of domestic wheat from farmers

Iraq's government has so far bought 2.5 million tonnes of wheat from local farmers during the current harvest season, Iraq's Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim al-Ani said Saturday..

In a press release, the ministry bought 24,592,011 tons of wheat from farmers in nine provinces between April 15 and June 7, and the farmers received 3359115 Iraqi dinars (2.7 million dollars) so far.
