Investment Authority: 60 applications for establishing free zone projects

Mohsen Adel, CEO of GAFI, revealed that 60 applications for free zone projects have been submitted and 896 applications submitted for amendments or a position on existing projects.

During the first quarter of 2019, the number of projects in free zones amounted to 1095 projects with a capital of 12.5 billion dollars, of which 2.12 billion dollars was foreign direct investment, with a total investment of 26.2 billion dollars, providing 194 thousand jobs.

Between July 2018 and the end of April 2019, total commodity exports totaled $ 8.3 billion, $ 4.8 billion in foreign exports, and $ 6.1 billion in total merchandise exports, with a total revenue of $ 174.9 million.
