Huawei is setting up a 5G fifth generation network for Russia's largest telecommunications company

science and technology

Russia has given a ray of hope to Huawei amid the crisis in which the telecom company has been living since its listing on the blacklist by the United States. The Chinese company announced its signing of the development of the fifth generation 5G networks with MTS, the largest mobile operator in Russia.

According to the US website The Verge, the deal came at a convenient time to coincide with a three-day visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow, while the deal signaled the desire to establish a closer relationship between the two Asian powers and unify the fate of two leading companies in each .

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the cooperation between Russia and China is now "at an unprecedented high level."

For Huawei, securing the deal is a welcome extract from the torrent of bad business news that resulted from the reprimand and ban of US President Trump. On Monday, it was revealed that Huawei is selling its submarine cable business. At the same time, Huawei is also reducing the demand for smart phone production with Foxconn, due to its loss of Google license which allows it to ship devices with pre-loaded Google apps and services.
