Alistair Cunningham, director of Wiltshire City Council, confirmed that the council will be committed to guarantees when the property is put up for sale, not using it according to its date. He also assured the city's residents that he will monitor what happens, if the owner wants to sell.

"I do not think it would be suitable for any kind of museum, especially after the death of a person involved in the incident," said a city councilor.

Sergey Scrippal, a former Russian intelligence officer who served as a double agent of the British intelligence service in the 1990s until his retirement, was found poisoned by him and his daughter on the street. British police found gas remains while Russia was charged with the incident, which Moscow denied.
