Governor of Matruh discusses cooperation with the representative of the World Food Program in Egypt

Majdi Al Gharabli, Governor of Matruh, met with His Excellency Manjestab Haile, representative of the World Food Program in the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss joint cooperation.
The representative of the World Food Program (WFP) thanked Majdi Al-Gharabli for his warm hospitality. He explained that the way the World Food Program has been implemented has changed. It has been studying the priorities of the Egyptian government, which proved its strength during the previous period. The program studied all strategies and trends in Egypt, The priorities of the government are in several areas (social development, refugees, supporting small farmers, nomads in the desert and community schools)
The Executive Director of the World Food Program visited Egypt in March and met with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The 2019 Plan was adopted for five years to implement its development priorities within the framework of the vision of Egypt 2030. He stressed the importance of Egypt in the Middle East and Africa. To strengthen the partnership with the State in this regard, especially with regard to food security, support for small farmers, as well as support for the National School Nutrition Program, one of the most successful projects implemented by the UN specialized agencies in Egypt, as it achieves food and health security for students, Social and economic development, youth employment and strengthening the role of women in society.
The World Food Program (WFP) representative, Munjestab Haile, said Matrouh is one of the priorities of the program's plan, as there are many projects being implemented by the program in the coming years.
He also pointed out that Shell International has signed cooperation with the program to support community schools in Matruh province in particular.
Major General Magdy Gharabli, governor of Matrouh, Engineer Hussein Al-Sinani, the first Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in Matrouh, in coordination with the program to prepare field visits for the work team and a comprehensive study of the program plan within the province.
At the end of the meeting, the governor of Matrouh presented the province's shield to the representative of the World Food Program in recognition of the efforts of the World Food Program in the province.
