A Victorian town house with a prison for more than 85 prisoners was sold for £ 2.6 million, more than £ 54 million, after five years of renovation, to transform it from an old prison into a luxury home.

Bingingham House was a prison near Newton Stewart in Dumfries, Scotland, run by the prison administration for 50 years until they had to close it because of a budget shortfall.
