Ahmed Ahmed, head of the African Football Confederation [CAF], has been released following investigations by the French anti-corruption committee.

French Football Federation [AFF] president Ahmed Ahmed was released after being arrested by the French police for investigating the breach of contract terms with a French company, the African Football website reported.

The site "Jeune Afrique"That Ahmed Ahmed was arrested on Thursday morning at 8:30 am, at his residence in Paris by the Central Office for Combating Corruption and Financial Crimes to hear him in the complaint against him.

The website pointed out that the complaint is based on the accusations made by Amr Fahmy, Secretary General of the African Union [AU], regarding some contracts related to the African Union's clothing and other financial matters.
