"Drug Information": Dogs are the cause of most deaths caused by the infection
The Drug Information Center of the Central Administration of Pharmacy at the Ministry of Health confirmed that dogs cause most deaths from human rabies.
The drug information center said: Dogs contribute 99% of total human rabies infections.
The Center added that rabies is a preventable viral disease and is transmitted to humans from the saliva of infected animals by biting or scratching from an infected animal.
If the signs and symptoms of rabies begin to appear on anyone, the disease becomes life threatening, so anyone with the risk of rabies should receive vaccinations for protection.
The first symptoms of rabies may be similar to flu and may last for days.
