China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Thursday granted commercial use licenses for fifth-generation technology to four companies.

The licenses were awarded to China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Broadcasting Network to represent the first batch of commercial use licenses for fifth-generation technology, the ministry said in a statement today. .

The fifth-generation communications industry has a competitive advantage by combining self-innovation and open cooperation, and the fifth-generation standards are standard international standards created by international manufacturers, with China owning more than 30 percent of the core patents of the technology.

Foreign companies including Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm and Intel have been deeply involved in the technology experience, noting that China always welcomes domestic and foreign companies to participate actively in building, implementing and promoting the fifth generation network and sharing the benefits of industry development.
