A British university is studying student data on social networking sites to prevent suicide

A university in the UK is planning to analyze students' data on a social networking site to help prevent student suicide.
The University of Northumbria and a group of organizations will collect data from student social networking accounts to create an "early warning tool" that will be used to identify students suffering from a psychological crisis so that the university can provide assistance.
The university is already studying data such as classrooms, attending lectures, using the library to reach potential mental health problems, and funding from the Student Student Office will allow researchers to develop more data.
Since most students use social media increasingly, data may be more confident, but it is not clear exactly what data the university will collect from students' social media accounts.
Although there are concerns about monitoring student accounts and privacy violations, a university source said the data would be protected, so students would have to agree to share any data.
