1000 young people from 51 African countries apply for a Nasser Leadership Fellowship

The African Youth Bureau and the Central Administration of Parliament and Civil Education of the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced statistics on the applicants for the Naser grant for African leadership, launched by the Ministry, from 8 to 22 June 2019.
The number of applicants was about 1,000 young leaders representing 51 African countries. The average age of applicants is 28 years; 782 are young leaders aged 21 to 35 years. , There are 16 young leaders under the age of 21, and 53 young people over the age of 35, and has been selected – and very carefully – the most efficient 100 young leadership among applicants from various African countries.
Nasser's African Leadership Award aims to convey Egypt's longstanding experience in building national institutions and create a new generation of young African transformational leaders with a vision in line with the directions of the Egyptian presidency of the African Union that is committed to serving the objectives of the African Unity through integration; Continent-wide impact on training, skills and strategic visions.
The grant generated a great deal of interest in the local and international media, both official and non-official, in Arabic and foreign languages. Some 90 local news outlets covered the news, either in Arabic or in foreign languages. The Egyptian Embassy in Ethiopia and the African Union – Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Serbia – Egypt's Presidency of the African Union.
