Forbes, the American billionaire, has donated $ 6 million to the School of Business Administration at the University of Chicago to launch the first tailor-made executive education program in El Gouna, part of a larger grant by Nassef Sawiris to the university and dedicated to supporting education in Egypt.

The university said in a press release, Forbes reported in a report on Sunday that Nasif donated through the Sawiris Family Foundation in May. The new Chicago Booth program will be held in El Gouna once a year. Public and private sector participants in Egypt will be able to attend 14-day sessions starting this year and ending in 2021.

The participants will experience a mix of experiential learning, expand their professional networks and enhance their ability to influence. The program plans to include participants from the wider Middle East and North Africa region in the coming years.

Naseef Sawiris, 58, has been working on the board of the University of Chicago since 2013 and is one of the most generous donors in his dealings with the university he graduated from. He donated $ 20 million in 2015 to fund scholarships on behalf of his father to Egyptian students. He also established a fellowship program that included the exchange of students between Cairo University and the University of Chicago. Sawiris is the richest businessman in Egypt and has $ 7.2 billion in wealth.
