Egypt is considering cooperation with Russia in the manufacture of electronics and artificial intelligence

A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology [MCIT] met with Konstantin Nuskov, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Public Information of the Federal Republic of Russia on the sidelines of the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Digital Economy.

The meeting discussed means of developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and information technology, which was agreed during the visit of the Russian minister to Egypt, headed by a high-level delegation of representatives of the Russian government and companies in March.

During the meeting, they stressed the importance of supporting cooperation in the design and manufacture of electronics, artificial intelligence, capacity building in technological disciplines and partnership with major Russian educational institutions in the framework of the initiative "Pioneers of Future Technology" In specialized training programs in data science and artificial intelligence.

It was also agreed to cooperate in the field of cybersecurity through studying the possibility of establishing a center for excellence in cybersecurity in Egypt with co-financing for the rehabilitation of Egyptian and African cadres..

The Egyptian delegation welcomed the invitation from his Russian counterpart to visit Moscow in the coming period for a closer look at the Russian ICT sector.

In a related context, the delegation of the Ministry of Communications with the ministers participating in the meeting of the Group of 20 ministries of digital economy toured the exhibition on the sidelines of the meeting; the latest models of the applications of the fifth generation such as telemedicine and the methods of translation through artificial intelligence.

The minister also visited the company Cyber ​​dyne Specialized in robotics and prosthetic devices, and also visited the Japanese Space Agency Jaxa Where he was briefed on Japan's contribution to the International Space Station.

The delegation of the Ministry of Communications held a number of meetings on June 6 and 7 with leaders from the Japanese side including government officials, representatives of companies and academic institutions with the aim of establishing effective partnerships with the Japanese side in the field of communications and information technology. He also participated for two days in the Group of 20 Ministerial of the digital economy .
