"Education" opens a center for sensory integration, occupational therapy and skills development

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education will inaugurate a center for sensory integration, occupational therapy and skills development at Al Amal School for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired in El-Matareya, Cairo, next Tuesday, 11 June 2019, in the presence of Dr. Engi Mashhour, Advisor to the Minister of Education for special needs. The Ministry of Education added that the center was equipped with the latest equipment used in the rehabilitation programs for children of autism, the hearing impaired and the visually impaired. The center is developing treatment programs for behavioral modification, skills development, communication, sensory integration and occupational therapy. The center supervises the central administration of special education affairs, They received training from the Perkins School of America.

The Ministry explained that these services are provided free of charge to students with intellectual, visual, hearing, disability and autism disabilities throughout the year in coordination with schools, special education classes and general education schools.
