A broad attack on YouTube after deleting videos and channels belonging to activists and journalists
A number of creators and content providers complained to YouTube about the disappearance of their channels and the deletion of their videos after the Google-owned site announced strong action to ban videos that provide racist content to age, sexual, racial, class, religious or sexual orientation.
According to The Verge, one of the deleted channels is run by a history teacher, a video uploaded by the Southern Poverty Act Center, and independent journalist Ford Fisher.
Fischer told the "The VergeThe American, that some of his videos used by documentary and teachers to study extremism and active groups around the world, is a reporter and a specialist in coverage of politics and extremist activity, has taken pictures in a number of major events such as the White Excellence, which was held in Virginia in 2017 , As well as Gay Pride Parades.
The videos, which were deleted by YouTube, included footage of the famous white supremacist Mike Enoch speaking at an event two months before the reunification of the right in Virginia. The footage was used in a documentary that reveals how white nationalism can spread in the United States. The second was a discussion between Palestinians and Israelis about the Holocaust, and the videos were removed despite their educational context.
Fischer argues that he does not publish the hate speech and that it is unfair for YouTube not to use better supervisors when it comes to identifying influential channels. "They should also be concerned that creators get paid fairly, but they do not fill the economic support of society."
