Hatem Najib, deputy head of the fruit and vegetable division, predicted that the price of lemon in the market would fall by 30 to 40 percent within three weeks from now, pointing out that the decline in crop productivity caused a big rise in prices.

Najib said that "there are several provinces where the cultivation of lemons, especially the lake and the eastern and the Minya and Aswan," pointing out that the production of lemon "Sultan" will appear in the markets during the period from 15 to 20 days, especially the production of Upper Egypt.

The deputy head of the vegetables and fruit division, said that the production of the province of the lake once it appeared in the markets will lead to falling prices, pointing out that the price of a kilo of lemon ranges from 40 to 45 pounds in the wholesale market, and there is no harvest enough, which makes demand greater than supply and And then the rise in the market to the price of the kilo to 80 pounds.
