Tourism "third" among the world's five economic sectors

Dr. Said El-Batouty, the economic adviser to the World Tourism Organization, revealed that international tourism ranks third among the top five economic sectors in the world, with the chemical industry coming first, followed by the fuel industry and tourism, followed by the food and automobile industries.

Exports of international tourism in 2018 according to the statistics of the World Tourism Organization $ 1.7 trillion, as a result of strong growth in travel abroad from many markets around the world, accounting for 29% of global service exports and 7% of the total exports of Goods and services worldwide.

Al-Batouti pointed out that during the year 2018, the increase rate was 4% compared to the previous year 2017, which exceeded the growth rate of goods exports, which was 3%, reflecting the strong demand for international travel in a generally strong economic environment.

Total exports of international tourism include $ 1448 billion in international tourism revenue (tourist spending in tourist destinations) and $ 256 billion in international passenger services.
