The Arts Center at the University of New York [Abu Dhabi] is hosting a new promotion for its fourth season this summer in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Coral Group, the oldest theater group in the UAE capital. The audience will be on schedule with the famous show " Thursday, June 13, at 7:30 pm, Friday, June 14, at 2.30 pm, Monday 17 June, Thursday 20 June and Friday 21 June at 7:30 pm.

After presenting the finest productions of the famous plays such as "On the Thing Goose", "The Adams Musical Family Play" and "Ligali Blond – The Musical", the Abu Dhabi Coral Group is preparing to present the "Footloose: The Musical", which will take the audience on a journey to the 1980s Through an exceptional action that includes the most legendary pop songs.

The work is based on the 1984 film "Footloose", directed by Herbert Ross and Kevin Bacon, and tells the story of young Reyn McCormack, who moved to a small town in the Midwest and was surprised by the ban on dancing and rock music. The play presents a classic story about overcoming sadness, reaching emotional maturity using dance as symbolic, and emphasizing the importance of perseverance and determination to achieve goals.

The original music of the film topped the Billboard label and sold more than 15 million copies, after being nominated for the Oscars and Tony Awards in the top 40 in its category. The play is to be completed with new songs that reflect the essence of the work that calls for listening to the young generation and guiding it with love and wisdom.

Founded in 1977, the Coral Abu Dhabi Group is the oldest music group in the United Arab Emirates.
